We study the organization, function, and assembly of cortical circuits in health and disease.

The medial prefrontal cortex contributes to diverse adaptive behaviors and is broadly interconnected with many brain regions. Importantly, its prolonged maturation period makes the mPFC particularly vulnerable to disease. Through work in our individual labs and collaborative projects, we seek to understand how mPFC circuits are assembled during development, how their connectivity and function contributes to behavior in healthy animals, and how these circuits go awry to produce maladaptive behaviors in disease.
